Food service buildout on Peachtree Hills, a full reno on Roswell Rd, and 107 residential permits filed
Permits
A busy week of commercial activity across Buckhead. Here's what's moving.
- 3280 Peachtree Rd NE — Two electrical permits issued for interior lighting and power work, including a suite renovation for Lockton Companies on the 10th floor. Routine office upgrades, but it confirms the building stays active.
- 4075 Paces Ferry Rd NW — Low-voltage work underway for an office and classroom remodel. Lighting fixtures going in, data drops relocating. A broader renovation is in progress here.
- 3200 Downwood Cir NW — Two permits issued covering electrical updates and a new sink and dishwasher installation. Small scope, but the combination suggests a tenant buildout or kitchen refresh.
- 3393 Peachtree Rd NE — Fire sprinkler work routed for review. The project adds and relocates sprinklers to meet current NFPA 13 code. No disruption expected outside the building.
- 349 Peachtree Hills Ave NE — Plumbing rough-in permitted for four sinks, two water closets, a drinking fountain, and ice makers. That's a commercial kitchen or food service setup taking shape.
- 3840 Roswell Rd NE — A full building renovation is in review, including demolition of an existing canopy. Worth watching if you pass through the area regularly.
- 479 E Wesley Rd NE — A front roof dormer expansion is in review on a residential property. The goal is converting storage space into usable living area.
- 52 Paces W Dr NW — A multi-family alteration permit covering framing, drywall, flooring, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and paint. Full-unit work. Expect some noise if you're nearby.
Beyond these highlights, there are 71 additional commercial permits in the queue, mostly alterations, fire sprinkler upgrades, and electrical work. On the residential side, 107 permits came through, with arborist removals leading the count at 27, followed by HVAC and plumbing work. Nothing dramatic, but the tree removal volume is worth keeping an eye on as summer storms continue.
Road Work
Under Construction
- I-75 Lighting Upgrade (Fulton County) Crews are replacing the old high-pressure sodium lights along I-75 between Musket Ridge Drive and I-85 with LED fixtures, and may also swap out poles and conduit along the way. Expect work zone conditions on this stretch.
- SR 400 Tunnel Bridge Rehab at the Justin C. Martin Building (Fulton County) Rehabilitation work is underway on the SR 400 tunnel, covering spall repairs to transfer beams and roof slabs, fire system repairs, and other structural upgrades. If SR 400 is part of your daily drive, keep an eye out for lane impacts near this section.
- SR 9 Resurfacing (Fulton County) Paving crews are resurfacing SR 9 from SR 3 up to north of Paces Ferry Road. The road scored low on condition ratings, so this work has been a long time coming. Watch for delays through that corridor while crews work through it.
Utility Work
Atlanta Watershed
- West Wesley Road 24-Hour Closure for Sewer Main Maintenance — Work is getting done at West Wesley Road NW starting today and going through 7/20 for sewer main maintenance. Plan an alternate route if you travel through that stretch.
Service Requests
- Right of Way Overgrowth — Eleven reports came in along Wieuca Road, Paces Ferry Road, Arden Road, West Wesley Road, and several other corridors. Most are already resolved or closed, with two still in progress.
- Potholes — Nine reports spread across the area, including spots near Nancy Creek Road, Biscayne Drive, Peachtree Road at Wesley Road, and Moores Mill Road at Peachtree Battle Avenue. Three came back with no problem found, one got referred to the state DOT, and the rest are closed or in progress.
- Traffic Signal Repairs (Emergency) — Six Level 1 signal repairs were filed at major intersections including Paces Ferry at Northside Drive, Moores Mill at Wesley Road, and Northside Drive at Peachtree Battle Avenue. Four are already resolved.
- Traffic Signal Repairs (Non-Emergency) — Five reports at intersections along Peachtree Road, including Buckhead Avenue, Lenox Road, and Peachtree Dunwoody Road. Three are resolved, two are in progress.
- Sign Repair or Installation — Five requests filed, all still in progress, covering Mathieson Drive, Peachtree Battle Avenue, and Pharr Court.
- Downed Trees — Three trees reported down on Ivy Road, Birchwood Drive, and Mountain Drive. Two are being addressed, one is closed.
- Right of Way Litter — Three litter removal requests near West Oaks Court and Peachtree Battle Avenue, all in progress.
