Midtown Green opens as temporary lawn ahead of larger park plans
A new temporary greenspace called Midtown Green has officially opened along 14th Street, providing Midtown residents and office workers with an open lawn in the neighborhood's core. The interim space allows the public to enjoy the site while community leaders finalize the long-term vision and funding for a permanent park attraction.

Vertical construction is now underway on a campus expansion at The Temple, located at 1589 Peachtree Street near Ansley Park. The project by Balfour Beatty and partners will add modern community and educational spaces to Atlanta's oldest synagogue, reshaping a prominent corner along the corridor.

ATL e-bike rebates are back; Midtown lease; South Downtown; more!
The City of Atlanta has reopened its popular e-bike rebate portal following City Council approval of $1 million in fresh funding. Atlanta residents looking to offset the cost of an electric bike for local commuting have until September 22 to submit an application.

ASO putting on free concert in Piedmont Park Wednesday night
The concert starts at 7:30pm on Oak Hill and features the music of Beethoven, Haydn, Mozart and Vivaldi and more, lasting about 90 minutes with food trucks on site. The concert moves forward as planned despite the recent shooting at the park.

City of Atlanta accepts Fulton County's offer to purchase Atlanta City Detention Center
Mayor Andre Dickens has formally informed the Fulton County Board of Commissioners that the City of Atlanta will accept the county's offer to purchase the Atlanta City Detention Center for $68 million. The Mayor stated the agreement is expected to deliver over $600 million in net present value to Fulton County taxpayers by leveraging existing detention capacity and avoiding substantially greater future capital costs.

Midtown's Bon Ton closing after nine years — The Cajun-Vietnamese restaurant and cocktail bar on Myrtle Street will close its doors on September 30 after nearly a decade in Midtown.

Atlanta City Council
The full council approved rezoning more than 36 acres along Logan Circle and Chattahoochee Avenue from industrial use to mixed-use residential and commercial, opening the door to major apartment and retail development on the Upper Westside. - I-75 from I-85 to Memorial Drive — GDOT is upgrading lighting along this stretch of I-75 to LED fixtures, with possible pole and conduit replacement. Fulton County.
- I-75 @ Ralph McGill Blvd & Baker Street, Tunnel Lighting — Both tunnels are getting new LED lighting to replace the old HPS fixtures, with conduit and wiring work included. Fulton County.
