Fulton County Board of Commissioners
Commissioners approved funding for 55 new affordable housing units split between single-family homes and multifamily apartments, a move aimed squarely at the county's housing crunch. They also signed off on a $4.42 million contract to modernize nine elevators at the Fulton County Jail, a project that will take about a year and a half to finish. Members gave final approval to new policies on repurposing empty school buildings and on student technology and AI use in classrooms. The board also locked in a 15-year lease for a district-owned property on Warren Street and transferred a small strip of land near Usher-Collier Elementary to the state for road improvements. - 1579 Monroe Dr NE — Interior demo of non-load-bearing walls and trim, with new partitions going up after. Standard commercial alteration, though it's stuck needing additional materials before it can move forward.
- 2121 Faulkner Rd NE — Full roof replacement, tearing off the existing system down to the deck and installing new insulation, cover board, and flashing. Expect roofing crews and noise on site.
- 812 Lambert Dr NE — Urban Body Fitness is moving into an existing building, with interior renovations to fit out the new gym space. Another fitness concept joining the area.

- Buford Spring Connector @ I-85 Tunnel Lighting (Fulton County) — This project upgrades the tunnel's HPS lighting to LED at the Buford Spring Connector and I-85 interchange, with conduit and wiring repairs included.
- SR 236 / LaVista Rd & Shepherds Ln Signal Upgrade (DeKalb County) — Signal upgrades are underway at SR 236 / LaVista Rd, spanning into DeKalb County just outside Fulton.

- Potholes — Eight reports concentrated on Johnson Rd NE, plus Piedmont Rd NE, N Highland Ave NE, and Meadowdale Ave. Crews have already fixed two and have three more in progress.
- Traffic Signal Repairs — Monroe Dr NE has multiple outstanding issues, including two at Monroe Dr and Cumberland Rd. You'll also find reports at E Rock Springs Rd NE and Piedmont Rd and Cheshire Bridge Rd. Three of these turned out to be duplicates or got cancelled.
- Downed Trees — Crews are working three reports on Saint Charles Ave, San Antonio Dr NE, and Johnson Rd at Pasadena Ave.
- Overgrowth Blocking Visibility — Highland Ave at Zimmer Dr and Morningside Dr at Lanier Pl both got flagged for overgrowth cutting into sightlines. One's already resolved.
