CP Group has also detailed plans to add walkable retail to Buckhead's Piedmont Center office complex.

Fulton County commissioners approved funding for 55 new affordable housing units in Vine City and English Avenue, split between 12 single-family homes and 43 multifamily apartments. Commissioners also signed off on a $4.42 million contract to modernize nine elevators at the Fulton County Jail, a project expected to take about 560 days, and approved a $1.2 million grant-funded rental assistance agreement with the Urban League of Greater Atlanta running through 2028.

The Atlanta Board of Education approved converting the former Lakewood Heights School site into affordable housing, along with intergovernmental agreements covering four more surplus APS properties for similar redevelopment with the Atlanta Urban Development Corporation. The board also finalized new policy on repurposing underused school buildings and on student technology and AI use in classrooms.

DeKalb's Planning Commission recommended denial of a restaurant drive-through, a cell tower, an alcohol retail outlet, and a daycare rezoning while backing a new townhome community and a subdivision expansion using conservation-style zoning. Final votes go to the Board of Commissioners on September 24.

Brookhaven's Planning Commission floated two citywide zoning rewrites, one rewriting household living and workforce housing standards and another updating rules for nonconforming properties, both of which would apply to every neighborhood in the city rather than a single site.

Midtown: Peachtree Street towers are deep in interior buildouts rather than new construction, with fire sprinkler relocations and whitebox work at 999 Peachtree St NE and a full-floor electrical upgrade at 860 Peachtree St NE. GDOT continues bridge preservation work across seven Cobb, DeKalb, and Fulton bridges and LED tunnel lighting upgrades on I-75.

Memorial Drive Corridor: A new 4-story mixed-use building is filed for 1976 Hosea L Williams Dr NE, and a 5,975-square-foot Grady urgent care is in site prep at 724 Memorial Dr SE. Duplexes keep multiplying at Stovall and Fulton Terrace, and GDOT is installing rectangular rapid flashing beacons at four SR 260 intersections for pedestrian safety.

VaHi & Morningside: Cheshire Bridge Road is seeing heavy electrical buildouts, including new 400-amp panels at 2321 Cheshire Bridge Rd NE, alongside a new gym moving into 812 Lambert Dr NE. I-85 near Lenox Road and the Buford Spring Connector tunnel are both getting LED lighting upgrades.

Buckhead: Peachtree Road buildouts are stacking up, with 44 new sprinkler heads at 3348 Peachtree Rd NE and a full 24th-floor electrical renovation at 3333 Piedmont Rd NE. A new restaurant kitchen is taking shape at 3833 Roswell Rd NE, and GDOT continues I-75 lighting work and SR 400 tunnel rehab near the Justin C. Martin Building.

Southwest Beltline: Lee Street SW is getting a power upgrade, with a 75kW generator at 1149 Lee St and combined electrical/HVAC work at 929 Lee St. GDOT is rebuilding the SR 14 bridge over the Beltline Westside Trail and resurfacing SR 14 near Norman Berry Drive.

Downtown: Peachtree corridor buildings are churning through interior remodels, with 600 Peachtree St NE getting repeated fire sprinkler and electrical work, and Live Nation pulling an electrical permit near Centennial Olympic Park. Downtown intersections logged 17 traffic signal repair requests this week, and GDOT continues resurfacing I-75/I-85 and upgrading tunnel lighting at Ralph McGill Blvd, Baker Street, and SR 154.

Druid Hills & North Decatur: A $500K single-family electrical rewire near Clairmont closed out with a full 200-amp service upgrade, and new LED signage at 2512 Blackmon Dr hints at a Northlake tenant. GDOT is upgrading signals at LaVista and Shepherds Lane.

Decatur: A sinking fire vault on Atlanta Avenue was replaced and the site replanted with a maple. GDOT continues transit access upgrades near Kensington MARTA station and resurfacing on I-285 between Snapfinger Road and SR 8.

Brookhaven & Chamblee: Nine water meter and tap permits tied to the Silverton townhome development on Manifest Drive all closed out, signaling the project is heading toward move-in. GDOT is optimizing signals on Peachtree Industrial Blvd, resurfacing SR 13 toward Chamblee Tucker Road, and adding a third lane to the Ashford Dunwoody eastbound ramp at I-285.
